Additional Description of Link Alliance for Development and Democracy (ADD)

The Alliance for Development and Democracy (ADD) is a centre party that believes in both the private sector and the market playing their full roles in developing the country.

ADD seeks to contribute towards entrenching real democracy in Zambia by concentrating on issues rather than personalities; offering solutions rather than violence and lifting the level of debate in Zambia.

From this day hence,

Let ideas and proposed solutions compete for the attention of our citizens.
And may those with the best ideas and solutions prevail.

ADD in its process of consultations has identified that the single issue that is affecting everybody in the entire nation is encompassed in three similar and interlinked issues which, when rolled together as one, constitute the one single issue that today is the scourge of every Zambian, namely “POVERTY, CHRONIC UNDERDEVELOPMENT AND THE SUFFERING OF THE PEOPLE”.

This is the enemy of every Zambian, regardless of the region they come from, their status and their gender.

It is around the desire to defeat and eradicate this enemy that ADD is founded.

ADD FORMATION

In 2009, a group of Zambians from all walks of life who were dissatisfied with the current situation in the country came together.

Despite Zambia being endowed with many minerals and probably oil and having such great potential in both Tourism and Agriculture, Zambia still remains poor with the vast majority of its people wallowing in abject poverty. This group of people came together with the realization that something had to be done.

This is how the ADD was created, to seek to contribute towards offering solutions to the problems affecting all Zambians. The ADD was not established around an individual but on a careful collective analysis of the issues affecting all Zambian people.
