New Apostolic Church Pastor Nabbed For Drug Trafficking
It
looks like christmas eve was a fateful day for the New Apostolic Church as the
Drug
Enforcement Commission (DEC) on the same day arrested its priest in Sesheke
district for drug cultivation.
William Pumulo Siomboka, aged 37, was
arrested for cultivating 2.1 tones of cannabis. Pastor Siomboka of Siomboka New
Apostolic Church congregation in chief Imalenda's area had cultivated his
cannabis fields about 150 meters away from the church premises.
DEC
Public Relations Manager, John Nyawali says the New Apostolic Church priest was
arrested on Christmas day together with six other females from the same area who
had cultivated a total of 7.1 tones of cannabis. Preliminary investigations
indicate that the group was contracted to cultivate the cannabis which was
earmarked for export to the neighboring countries. Mr. Nyawali says the
Commission is disheartened with the increasing number of custodians of good
morals getting involved in illicit drug trade and would like to urge such people
to uphold ethics and morals for a better future.
