The Opposition Patriotic Front (PF)
has vehemently denied allegations
made by the Drug
Enforcement Commission (DEC) suggesting that party cadres threw teargas
canisters at police.
This was when PF leader Michael Sata was being
questioned by the DEC at their
headquarters on Friday in connection with the one hundred thousand US
dollars Finance Bank transaction.
DEC Public Relations Manager John
Nyawali claimed that the PF cadres threw tear gas canisters on police
officers.
PF Deputy National Youth Chairperson Geoffrey Chuumbwe
expressed sadness at the high levels politicians are using civil servants to
defend themselves.
Mr. Chuumbwe adds that it is also disappointing that
President Rupiah Banda was fed with wrong information on the matter.
He
appealed to politicians not to use civil servants to achieve personal
agendas.
