Rupiah teases State House monkey
|President Rupiah Banda this morning teased the State House monkey
which he jokingly identified as the one that urinated on him during the press
conference last month. This was during a photo session after he swore-in the new
community development deputy minister Moses Muteteka and Principal Private
Secretary to the President, Eddie Mwanza.|
As President Banda walked
outside the State House building to join the new appointees for a photo session,
he looked up and said while pointing into the trees: "That monkey is still
there, it wants me to stand near the tree, I will not do that," he said before
laughing off with journalists who were covering the event.
President Banda urged his new principal private secretary Eddie Mwanza to help
build the image of State House.
"All the people I have consulted have
nothing but good words about you and your hard work… Make the image of this
State House continue to be a home, a State House for the people of Zambia," he
